Why Vote?
Important decisions happen at the local level that impact our community.
Despite this only 21% of eligible voters participated in the last election.
Do you care about community safety, libraries, parks and recreational facilities, public transit, good-roads, or caring for our most vulnerable? How about living in a community that is environmentally sustainable and economically prosperous?
If the answer is yes, then you should vote in our municipal election!
Nearly 80% of all jobs, investment, and population growth occur in Saskatchewan’s major cities.
Canada’s cities are on the front line of the world’s greatest challenges, most obviously climate change and income inequality, but also health, security, housing, migration, accessibility and more.
- Our city is where entrepreneurs test market a new idea that can scale globally.
- Our city is where reconciliation takes place.
- Our city is where our kids decide whether they can realize their dreams and ambition in Regina or not.
- Our city is where we showcase to the world that we can address climate change and sustain a dynamic economy.
In the coming years we will need to make critical decisions about major infrastructure investments, reimagine and modernize city services, and address pressing societal challenges.
Our community needs your voice and vote.
The good news is that it has never been easier to participate in Regina’s election.
